Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.




  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Instructions / Guidelines for the Author for Paper Submission

  1. MAIRAJ accepts original, unpublished research articles in Social Sciences, English Language and Literature, Urdu Language and Literature, and related interdisciplinary fields. Manuscripts may be submitted in English or Urdu.

  2. All articles in Mairaj are published according to the rules and regulations set by HEC.

  3. All articles go through rigorous Double  blind peer review process before publishing which could take two to three months.

  4. Mairaj is published biannually in June and December so articles must be submitted 30 days before respectively.

  5. Articles submitted in Mairaj must not to be sent anywhere else for publishing before getting known about acceptance or rejection.

  6. Authors should ensure that their manuscripts fall within the journal’s aims and scope before submission.

  7. The journal accepts manuscripts in English or Urdu. Urdu manuscripts must include an English title, abstract, keywords, author names, and institutional affiliations.

  8. Do not send translations or creative writings like Ghazal, Nazm, etc.

  9. Before sending articles take care of these matters.

    1. Articles must be in composed form. Soft copy is necessary as well hard copy.

    2. Articles must be accompanied by an abstract (100-200 words) in English.

    3. Title, Keywords, Name of the Researcher and affiliation of the researcher should be provided in English also.

    4. Complete address and contact details should be provided

    5. Attach an affidavit in which clearly mention that the article is not submitted, under consideration for publication or printed elsewhere.

    6. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format on A4-sized pages with one-inch margins and single line spacing. English manuscripts must use Times New Roman, 12-point font. Urdu manuscripts must use Jameel Noori Nastaliq, 14-point font. English titles, abstracts, keywords, and references within Urdu manuscripts must use Times New Roman, 12-point font.

    7. Article must include references/ footnotes at the end of the article, otherwise it is not acceptable.

    8. Please follow this structure for references: (Author, Book, Publisher, Address, Year, Page)

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and proper attribution of their published work. The views expressed in individual articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of MAIRAJ, its editors, reviewers, or publisher. The editorial team remains responsible for editorial screening, overseeing independent peer review, making publication decisions, and addressing ethical concerns in accordance with the journal’s policies. Substantiated errors or concerns identified after publication will be investigated and addressed, where appropriate, through corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions. Substantive editorial changes require author approval.

Articles

This section publishes original research articles within the aims and scope of MAIRAJ. All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Suitable manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers through a double-blind peer-review process. Publication decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological quality, relevance, and compliance with the journal’s publication ethics.
