Aims and Scope

The primary aim of MAIRAJ is to promote academic excellence through the publication of original, scientifically sound and critically informed research in Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities.

The journal welcomes manuscripts addressing sociology, psychology, education, political science, international relations, social policy, development studies, cultural studies, gender studies, media and communication studies, English literature, Urdu literature, linguistics, literary criticism, comparative literature, translation studies, history, philosophy and relevant interdisciplinary areas.

Research on Urdu fiction, poetry, literary criticism, language development, linguistic change, cultural identity and literary traditions is welcomed when presented as original scholarly research.

Publication Frequency

MAIRAJ follows a biannual publication schedule, with regular issues covering January–June and July–December. The journal aims to maintain consistent and timely publication in accordance with its announced schedule.

Languages of Publication

MAIRAJ accepts manuscripts written in English and Urdu. Urdu-language submissions must include an English title, abstract and keywords to support international discoverability and indexing.

Types of Manuscripts

The journal considers original research articles, scholarly review articles, theoretical and conceptual studies, critical literary analyses and interdisciplinary research contributions. All submissions must meet the journal's academic and ethical requirements.

Editorial Independence
